2009 Canterbury Home Show
On 16th – 18th October 2009, we will be doing talks on ‘Gardening Made Easy’ at the Canterbury Home Show. Geoff will also be giving landscaping and garden advice.
Every year we do home shows in Christchurch, these are photos of our latest Home Show in June this year.
Instant Lawn Care
After Laying:
- Instant lawn must not dry out before it is well rooted in.
- Apply sufficient water at night or early morning to last through the heat of the day.
- Avoid watering in hot sunlight.
- Avoid having water lying on the surface in hot sunlight (it can literally cook grass).
- Watch ‘Hot Spots’ areas – eg areas getting reflected heat from walls etc., areas of poor air movement.
- Sandy or pumice soils demand special care. Read more
Sowing a New Lawn
An immaculate lawn will do wonders to improve the look of your garden and outdoor areas, and really makes a difference for homes on sale. News lawns will grow well in the warmer months (but not the heat of summer). Try March, April and May, August, October & November. Read more
